dr. R. van den Akker

Since 2010 Ramon van den Akker is an Assistant Professor (tenure track) at CentER and at the department of Econometrics & Operations Research, both at Tilburg University. Prior to his appointment at Tilburg University, he was employed from 2007 to 2010 as a risk analyst at SNS REAAL specialized in credit risk (Basel II) and pricing. Ramon's research interests cover various fields in the area of asymptotic statistics, quantitative risk management, and time series analysis. His findings have been published in journals as Bernoulli, the Journal of Econometrics, and the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B. He has taught courses in econometrics, life insurance, mathematics, probability theory, quantitative finance, and statistics. Since 2011 Ramon is member of the Model Governance Committee of SNS REAAL and advises SNS REAAL Risk Modelling (0.20 fte).
